Personal Sketch of Lillie Ann Eggett Boyanton
My parents were both born in England, coming to Utah in the early 80's. My father was a baker by trade. They belonged to the Church of England. Later they joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They have nine children buried in England and nine here in Utah, seven of whom are living. They are Thomas Eggett, Eliza E. Trimbath, William Ivory Eggett, John Eggett, Hyrum Eggett, myself and Orson Eggett, all of Bountiful.
I was born in Salt Lake City Nov. 15th 1885 in the 11th [?] ward. I lived there with my parents about three months, when my father took up 160 acres of land on the bench of Bountiful. They moved up to their new home in the winter. We lived in a house with bare walls, board floor, and sage and choke cherry brush for shade. When I was about seven years old I went to school. I attended until I was in the fourth grade when my mother took sick and I had to leave my studies and go to house keeping.
My mother died Aug. 30th 1902. Then I was left to keep house for my father and three brothers, which was quite an experience for such a young girl, I being sixteen at the time, but with the help of my Heavenly Father I battled along. Seven months later my father died and my three brothers and myself were left to do as best we could. I kept house for them until Oct 12, 1904 when I married Charles Boyanton. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple and went to Bountiful to make our home.
When one year had passed we were blessed with a son which we called Charles Thomas Foursnouth [?]. Later we moved to Salt Lake City where my husband had work. While here our baby took very sick with pneumonia. He was very will for weeks, but with faith and works he recovered. Soon after this, we bought a house in Bountiful, being the spring of 1906. In 1907 our baby died with cholera infantum. We how have 4 children: 3 boys and 1 girl.
