Sex Offender InformationP.O.P. Unit Program
The Bountiful Police Department is proud to serve the citizens of Bountiful. In 2007, Chief Ross started the Bountiful City P.O.P. Unit (Problem Oriented Policing). This Unit, as part of their duties, conducts verification checks on registered sex offenders living in our community. These checks are done to educate offenders and check for non-compliance.
New Sex Offender Legislation / Registry Requirements
In August of 2009, new laws went into effect which requires registered sex offenders to register every 6 months at their local police agency. The Bountiful Police Department is asking that anyone who resides within the Bountiful City limits—and is required to register as a sex offender according to Utah Code Annotated, Section 77-27-21.5— report to the Bountiful Police Department to fulfill this responsibility. You may register anytime, but we are requesting that you register Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm. You will be required to fill out the Sex/Kidnap Offender Registration Form that is available at the police department or you may download the form by clicking on the link above.
If you are interested in checking for sex offenders that may live in your area please visit the State of Utah Sex Offender Web Site http://corrections.utah.gov/services/sonar.html
